Ather is the result of 5 years of hard work by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. Launched in the incubation cell of IIT Madras, Ather Energy is focused on developing advanced electric two-wheelers for the Indian automotive market.

The company was started in 2013 by IIT Madras alumni Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. After five years of research, Ather has finally designed and manufactured the country's first indigenously developed electric scooter – the Ather S340. 

The company is funded by several venture capitalists such as owners Sachin and Binny Bansal of India's leading e-commerce giant Flipkart and Dr. V Srinivas, founder of the Aerospike and Technology Development Board, Government of India. Both of them bring versatility and innovation to the market.

While Tarun handles the business side of affairs, Tarun Mehta is more interested in improving the products' mechanical, electrical, and software features. Ather Rizta

Ather Rizta is an ideal family scooter designed for urban commuters. Ather rizta price is 1,19,382 in India. It has the largest seat for a comfortable ride and 34 L boot storage space. The Rizta is offered in three variants and seven colors. The scooter can reach a top speed of 80 km/h and provide a range of 123 km.

Also, the EV gets two riding modes - Smart Eco (SE) and Zip. It competes with other popular electric scooters in India, such as Ola S1 and TVS iQube.

Ather 450 Apex

The Ather 450 Apex is a high-performance limited edition of the 450X model. Apart from being the most expensive scooter from Ather, it also claims to be the fastest electric scooter in India, reaching 0-40 kmph in just 2.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 100 kmph.

With a 7kW motor and 3.7kWh battery, the 450 Apex offers a riding range of 157 km. Additionally, the scooter has some notable features like a new regenerative braking system and a sportier design. The rate of this Ather scooter is Rs 1,94,946. 

Ather 450X

The new Ather 450X is an upgraded version of the electric scooter Ather 450x price, offering a bigger 3.7 kWh battery and a range of 150 km. Ather 450x on-road price is 1,50,451. It keeps the spirited performance of the previous model with a 6.4kW motor and 26Nm of torque. With advanced features like Bluetooth connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, and fast charging, it offers a balance of range, power, and smart technology.

The updated Ather 450X is available in two battery options – 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh, providing a range of 90km and 110 km, respectively. The small battery takes 8 hours, and the large one takes 5 hours to get fully charged.

Ather 450S

The 450S is Ather's entry-level scooter that is placed below the 450X and 450 Apex. The 450S is available in 2 variants and 4 colors. With both front and rear disc brakes, the Ather 450S comes with a combined braking system. The scooter gets a sporty design and youthful bodywork with cuts and creases.

The 450S scooter is powered by a 2.9kWh battery and 5.4kW motor, offering a range of 90 km and a top speed of 90 kmph.  Ather 450S electric scooter cost Rs 1,17,489.
