BMW Motorrad has updated the S 1000 R. It has modernized technology and an updated color palette. The motorcycle has an RDC or tire pressure monitoring system for 2023, which displays the user's current tire pressure. Streetfighters can now turn off self-canceling indicators.
In the Indian market, the motorcycle is offered in three variations: Standard, Pro, and Pro M Sport.
Engine and Hardware
The 999cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled, BS6-compliant motor generates 114Nm of maximum torque at 9,250 rpm and 165bhp power at 11,000 rpm. Linked to the engine is a six-speed gearbox. The claimed fuel efficiency is 6.2 liters per 100 kilometers or 16.12 km/l. This S 1000 R motorcycle weighs 199 kg and has a 16.5-liter fuel tank.
Features
The feature list has also been updated, and the S1000R BS6 now includes full-LED illumination as standard equipment. Instead of the semi-digital unit on its predecessor, the cockpit receives an upgrade from a Bluetooth-enabled 6.5-inch TFT display. The Pro M Sport version is 194kg heavier than the ordinary model, which weighs 199kg.
Electronic rider aids come standard with Hill Start Control, Traction Control, Anti-Hopping Clutch, ABS Pro, and three modes (Rain, Road, and Dynamic). Extra functions on the Pro and Pro M Sport models, including Riding Modes Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), engine drag and torque control MSR, engine brake control, and Power Wheelie control, are available.
Additional options, including keyless entry, a USB port, a heated steering wheel, cruise control, gear-shift assistance, adaptive lighting, and daytime running lights, are also available on premium models. The Pro M Sport version, along with all the options, also includes the following: carbon wheels, an M Endurance chain, an M GPS lap trigger, a sports silencer, and coverage of 830 mm seat height.
Color
BMW Motorrad will offer the motorcycle in three color schemes: Racing Red, Hockenheim Silver Metallic, and Light White/M Motorsport (only with Pro M Sport).
Price
There are three variations of the BMW S 1000 R. The starting price for the BMW S 1000 R ex-showroom in Delhi is Rs 18,99,809 Lakh. The starting price for the BMW S 1000 R Pro variation is Rs 20,44,809 Lakh, and the high-end BMW S 1000 R M Sport variant is priced at Rs 23,29,781 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
