OVERVIEW
A motorcycle with a quarter-liter engine and a scrambler design, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is built on the same frame as the KTM 250 Duke. The bike is produced at Bajaj's factory in Chakan and will be offered in India through KTM dealerships.
Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen models are available; the former is a scrambler, and the latter is a cafe racer. These names are attached to 250cc motorcycles created primarily for the Indian market. Specifically, they take design cues from the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401, already offered in foreign markets.
ENGINE & HARDWARE
A 248.76cc BS6 engine that generates 24 Nm of torque and 30.84 horsepower powers the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 has anti-locking brakes with both front and rear disc brakes. This Svartpilen 250 motorcycle weighs 162 kg and has a 9.5-liter fuel tank.
Most of the hardware, including the engine, frame, suspension, and brakes, is interchangeable with the 250 Duke. A steel trellis frame clings to its single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 248.76cc engine. WP upside-down forks and mono-shock are used for dampening. A 320mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at the back, both with ByBre calipers and drop anchors. ABS with dual channels is standard.
FEATURES
In terms of design, the Svartpilen is a hybrid between a vintage scrambler and a contemporary street bike. It has an entirely LED headlamp in a circular form. A single-pod digital instrument cluster with plenty of information is perched on top of it. A high-set, stubbly tail section with an integrated tiny LED tail lamp mixes with the angular fuel tank that extends to the area underneath the rider's seat. Tall handlebars with braces, the metal cladding on the fuel tank, and rugged-pattern tires give it a scrambler look.
COLORS
Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 comes in Grey, Black, and Blue Moonshine options.
PRICE
In Delhi, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is available for Rs. 2.19 lakh ex-showroom. There is only one Svartpilen 250 variation, Svartpilen 250 STD.
RIVALS
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 competes in India against a distant relative, the KTM 250 Duke. It competes against other quarter-liter models, such as the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Honda CB300R, CFMoto 300NK, and the Yamaha FZ25.
