Overview
In 2020, the retro-inspired W800 from Kawasaki received a BS6 update. However, only the mechanical system has been modified to meet the emission norms. Although the W800 has been in the market for a while now, it has been overtaken by less expensive models like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. It has also been outdone by more powerful and feature-rich options like the Triumph Bonneville line.
Engine and Hardware
The Kawasaki W800 is powered by a 773cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces a maximum output of 50.2 bhp and 62.9 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox is connected to the motor at five speeds. Telescoping forks at the front and twin-side spring hardware at the rear are shock-absorbing components. There are single discs for the braking system on both wheels.
Features
The W800 features a classic aesthetic highlighted by its round headlight, wire-spoke wheels, and numerous chrome-plated components. Modern additions like an LED headlight, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and an assist and slipper clutch mechanism go well with the retro appearance.
Colors
The Metallic Flat Spark Black with Metallic Matte Graphite Grey color combination is the only one offered for the BS6-compliant Kawasaki W800.
Price
Kawasaki W800 is available in one variant and the price starts from Rs.7. 33 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
Rivals
In the Indian market, Kawasaki W800 competes with models like the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift, BMW F850 GS, Triumph Tiger 900, Triumph Street Twin, and the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
