OVERVIEW
Triumph's top adventure motorbike, the Tiger 1200, has undergone significant technical and aesthetic updates. The British company has upgraded it for 2022 with an improved motor, upgraded bodywork, enhanced technology, and even upgraded naming standards.
In India, four different versions of the upcoming Tiger 1200 have been released: GT Pro, Rally Pro, GT Explorer, and Rally Explorer.
ENGINE & HARDWARE
The 1160cc in-line-triple cylinder engine powers the Triumph Tiger 1200. The engine now generates 147bhp at 9000 rpm. With this revised figure, it is now the class's most potent shaft-driven motorcycle. One has an increase of 8Nm in torque to 130Nm. The new Tiger 1200 chassis weighs 5.5 kg less than the previous model. The brand has reduced some weight in this area by replacing the single-sided swingarm with an improved tri-link system. Metzeler Tourance tires are mounted on the GT's 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. In contrast, the Rally variant rides on Metzeler Karoo street tires and has a 21/18 tubeless spoke combination. Michelin Anakee wild tires are available for demanding applications.
