The Yamaha YZF R3 from the Japanese two-wheeler automaker is all set to join its new generation this year. The next generation vehicle is expected to hit the roads during the Diwali season of 2022, though its official launch date and other details have not been made public yet. The redesigned R3 will have a central air intake with an LED projector, and the slots on its sides will be similar to those of larger super bikes in India. The model will retain its smaller windscreen, sculpted fuel tank, rearview mirrors on the front cowl, low handlebar, split seat design, turn indicators mounted on the side fairing, rear-set footpegs, and upswept exhaust. The instrument panel will be fully digital and display data like trip meter, real-time time, fuel capacity, fuel efficiency, etc.
2022 Yamaha YZF-R3: Engine, Specification, and Feature
The new Yamaha R3 will likely be powered by the same 321cc, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The unit produces a 40.4bhp and 29.4Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed transmission and slipper clutch. The bike may still implement brake and suspension systems. The new R3 will come with preload-adjustable monocross rear suspension and USD forks up front. It will have 298mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes for braking.
A dual channel antilock braking system will be standard. The new 2022 Yamaha R3 will use the same 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyres. Its ratio is not expected to change.
