One motorbike that is neo-retro is the 2023 Z900 RS. However, no modifications have been made to the engine by the company.
Kawasaki introduced the 2023 Z900RS in the US, but the motorcycle has been withdrawn from sale in India due to the implementation of BS6 emission norms. The manufacturer provides a new paint job called Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Imperial Red. According to the manufacturer, the 2023 Z900RS can be available in the Indian market in the coming months. However, nothing has been verified yet.

For those who value a neo-retro motorbike that garners a lot of attention on the road, there’s the Z900RS for them. Kawasaki claims that the Z1 900, which debuted in 1972, served as the model for the Z900RS. The Z900RS sports a shorter body and fairing, a rounded headlight, and some bodywork. The seat and handlebar are tubular, and the fuel tank has a teardrop design. In addition, the manufacturer added chrome components to make the motorcycle look more vintage.

Despite the retro appearance, the Z900RS gets traction control, a switchable anti-lock braking system, and a slip and assist clutch. LED units have been used in the headlamps, turn indicators, and tail lighting. A group of semi-digital devices also exist. So, the tachometer and speedometer have identical circular dials. At the heart of these are a bunch of digital tools.
The engine of the Z900RS remains unchanged from Kawasaki. It still comes with a 948 cc liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine. It generates maximum torque of 95 Nm at 6,500 RPM and 107 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Kawasaki only offers the Z900RS’s younger model, the Z650RS, for sale in India. The cost is Rs. 6.92 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 650cc parallel-twin engine that churns out 68PS of maximum output and 64Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
