Ather 450X Gen 3 vs Ola S1 Pro

Ather Energy recently introduced the 450X Gen 3 as its latest flagship product in India. The upgraded e-scooter has undergone several adjustments, which should now make it an even more attractive product. Ola S1 Pro, an electric two-wheeler, is another well-known electric bike in India. The above electric vehicles are now loaded with features and have great performance. Let’s compare the two to determine which performs better on paper.

Ather 450X Gen 3 vs Ola S1 Pro: Design

The Ather 450X Gen 3 looks similar to the previous generation model. It has the same athletic bodywork and is intended to appeal to younger people. While the turn indicators are embedded in the handlebar cowl, the LED headlamps are placed on the apron. The Ather 450X is an efficient scooter as the side panels and overall dimensions are also relatively small. On the other hand, the Ola S1 Pro looks quite attractive. Although it has similarly small proportions, the bodywork is curved rather than pointed. The handlebar cover of the S1 Pro is home to a pair of LED projector headlights, while the front apron houses LED turn indicators.

Ather 450X Gen 3 features GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, five riding modes (Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp), reverse mode, a touchscreen TFT display, a side-stand sensor, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, and vehicle. The Ola Scooters has also given the S1 Pro a TFT touchscreen display, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, audio playback, and four ride modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, and Hyper), and four ride modes (Normal, Sport, and Hyper). Later this year, Ola intends to release more features via OTA with its Move OS4 upgrade.

Ather 450X Gen 3 vs Ola S1 Pro: Battery and Motor 

One of the most significant upgrades is the Ather 450 Gen 3’s 3.9kWh battery, which replaces the 2.9kWh battery in the previous model. According to Ather, the 450X Gen 3 can travel 85 km in Ride mode and 105 km in Eco mode. The same 6.2kW motor that powers it first. A 3.97kWh lithium-ion battery and an 8.5kW motor provide the Ola S1 Pro power. Ola says the S1 Pro can go up to 181 km in optimum conditions. However, our testing showed that the scooter travels around 100 km in normal riding conditions (normal mode).

Ather 450X Gen 3 vs Ola S1 Pro: Hardware

The 450X Gen 3 is outfitted with Ather with telescoping front forks and mono-shock at the back. A 200 mm front disc and 190 mm rear disc with CBS make up the braking system (combines braking system and regenerative braking as well). The 450X Gen 3 features 12-inch alloy wheels with front and rear tires measuring 90/90 and 100/90, respectively. The 450X now weighs 111.6kg due to the larger battery pack.

A single front fork and a single rear mono-shock offer suspension for the Ola S1 Pro. The S1 Pro weighs 125kg and gets 12-inch alloy wheels with 110/70-section tyres. Its braking system comprises a 220mm front disc and a 180mm rear disc with CBS.

Ather 450X Gen 3 vs Ola S1 Pro: Price

The Ather 450X Gen 3 is priced at ₹ 1,28,365. Whereas, the Ola S1 Pro price in India is around ₹ 20k more than the Ather scooter. The prices of both electric scooters are ex-showroom Delhi.
