Honda CL300 Scrambler Unveiled

The Honda CL300 scrambler has the same 286cc engine as the Honda CB300R but produces less horsepower.

Honda recently showcased the CL500 Scrambler at the 2022 EICMA trade fair. The younger sister, the Honda CL300, debuted recently with a 286cc liquid-cooled engine. With 25.7 horsepower, however, it produces 5 less horsepower than its sportier cousin.

Honda CL300 Scrambler: Details

The Honda CL300 follows a similar path to the CL500 in that bases its basic frame on the Rebel cousin but adopts a taller subframe to support the flat single-piece seat. The CL300 is built on the Rebel platform, not the CB, and the Honda Rebel 300 has a different chassis than the CB300R.

The ground clearance and seat height stand at 790mm and 165mm, respectively. The 286cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine produces 25.7 horsepower, which is 5 horsepower less than the CB300R. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The 16-inch Rebel wheels have been replaced by 19-inch front / 17-inch rear wheels, similar to the Honda CB500X. There is a slight off-road concentration in the tires’ tread pattern, although this serves more as a visual addition rather than an improvement in off-road performance. The suspension system for the CL300 consists of a telescopic fork, a mono-shock, and a single disc brake with dual-channel ABS at either end.

The CL300 scrambler is now available in China in only two variants: Standard and Premium. The CL300 is no longer available in major international regions such as Europe or the US, and the manufacturer has yet to say whether the CL300 will be marketed in India.
