The latest Suzuki V-Strom 800DE has been released in the United States. The motorcycle premiered in several countries after being unveiled at the EICMA last year, with the US being the most recent. Here’s everything we know about it and when it might release in India.
The V-Strom 800DE is priced higher than the current V-Strom 650XT. It gets a new design with a more contemporary outlook. A transparent visor has been placed above the vertically stacked LED headlight, and a beak has been added below. Overall, aesthetic cues from the larger V-Strom 1050 are borrowed from the 800DE (sold overseas only).
Suzuki V-Strom 800DE: Engine and Specs
The V-Strom 800 is powered by a 776cc parallel-twin engine with an output rating of 83 bhp and 78 Nm. It is mated to a six-speed transmission with a bi-directional quick-shifter. Rider aids, including traction control, riding modes, and ABS braking system, are also included with the V-Strom 800DE. All these functionalities can be toggled on the five-inch TFT screen. It is supported by a monoshock and front Showa USD forks, which are fully adjustable. The braking system includes a single rear disc and dual petal front disc set on spoked 21/17-inch wheels shod with Dunlop Trailmax mixture tires.
When launched in India, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will compete with Triumph Tiger 900, BMW F850GS, and other vehicles.
