The new products will cover a variety of market segments and have power outputs between 5kW to 25kW.
After updating its iQube electric scooter line last year, TVS is gearing up to introduce new electric two-wheeler models. The company’s director and CEO, KN Radhakrishnan, recently told investors it would launch several new electric models across segments in 18 months. These models will range in power output from 5 to 25 kW.
This suggests that TVS Motor Company will enter the high-end electric two-wheeler market and may also introduce an electric motorcycle. The new versions will likely be positioned above the TVS iQube, which has a 4.4kW motor as its power source. Also, the motorbike form factor would not be unexpected, as the output could reach 25kW.
When questioned whether the model would have fixed or swappable battery packs, Radhakrishnan refrained from being specific, saying that the next addition would “make customers happy.” The swappable/removable battery concept wasn’t completely ignored, even if we can’t infer too much from it.
The iQube is already one of the best-selling high-speed EVs in the market, and TVS says it aims to maintain this success. The new launch will help TVS to keep its momentum. TVS is currently managing to double its electric vehicle sales every quarter. In addition, Radhakrishnan mentioned that a new ICE would be launched this quarter, though TVS provided a few details. This is likely a modification or upgrade to an existing model.
