Bajaj Pulsar is one of the most famous motorcycle brands in the Indian two-wheeler market. Over the last two decades, Bajaj Motorcycles has carved a niche for itself by introducing several models in the Pulsar range. The Chakan-based bike maker sells twelve models in the recently added Pulsar lineup across the N160, P150, N250, and F250.
In a recent conversation with Rajeev Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, on CNBC TV18, We got confirmation that the company will expand the Pulsar lineup in the coming months. Bajaj said the bike maker will launch six new or “significantly upgraded” models in the Pulsar range.
Petrol prices are increasing day by day. This may attract buyers who need help to afford the high cost of petrol. He said manufacturers will not have to worry about the range, safety, charging, and battery life of CNG bikes, which can reduce fuel costs by up to 50%. Such bikes will also be available to consumers.
CNG Motorcycle Will Come in 100cc
When people heard the news, their excitement increased even more that this time, Bajaj company would launch a CNG motorcycle with a 100cc engine. Bajaj Auto MD Rajeev said he expects sales of entry-level internal combustion engine bikes (100cc) to stay the same in the coming festive season, saying this is because buyers are moving towards electric options.
Buyers at the bottom of the pyramid affected by post-Covid job losses and rising petrol prices are not returning. You can expect Bajaj Auto to have seven motorcycle models between the 100cc and 125cc range. The company offers two models in the 100cc segment, Platina and Bajaj CT 100.
Other developments: CNG Bike, Chetak Electric
If we talk about Bajaj vehicles, the Pulsar models are very famous and one of the favorite models of the people. Apart from the flagship Pulsar, Rajiv Bajaj also confirmed the development of a new motorcycle in the mid-market segment, specifically the 125-200 cc range.
Bikes in this segment usually cost between Rs 80,000 to Rs 1.70 lakh (Ex-showroom). During the same conversation, Bajaj requested Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to reduce the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on CNG vehicles to 18 percent.
Due to this, Bajaj’s CNG bike may be launched in the future. Bajaj also confirmed that more new variants of the Chetak electric scooter will be launched in the upcoming festive season.
