The Italian sporty motorcycle company has unveiled the all-new RS 457 Aprilia globally. The new Aprilia sits below the RS 660 in the company’s line-up, with the latest version arriving ahead of India’s first MotoGP race. The company says it has completed its sportiest family yet and is entering a new segment with an eye on new generations and markets in the future.

The new RS 457 has a twin-cylinder engine and offers a range of electronics, and the rider gets aggressive design inspiration from its bigger brother. The Aprilia RS 457 aims to become the new technical and stylistic benchmark for the world of young motorcyclists.

Aprilia RS 457: Production

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd will produce the sports bike at its Baramati facility in Maharashtra. Before considering its design, performance, and technical aspects, it should be noted that Piaggio Group subsidiary Aprilia will be manufacturing the all-new RS 457 in India.

Being in the global market confirms the brand’s goal of making sports bikes accessible to buyers entering early adulthood. Meanwhile, in its press statement, Aprilia has emphasized the RS 457’s A2 license compliance. The A2 license allows riders aged 19 or over to drive a motorcycle generating 47BHP (35kW). Two-wheeler manufacturers in Western markets such as the United Kingdom often advertise these motorcycles as A2 bikes.

Aprilia RS 457: Design

Inspired by its bigger brother, the RS 457 features a sporty design reminiscent of the successful RS 660. It has twin-pod LED headlamps, angular daytime running lights, sharp cuts and creases. An aggressive fascia with fairing, muscular fuel tank, underbelly 2-into-1 exhaust, and raised tail section. Furthermore, the sports bike uses an aluminum alloy frame and 17-inch wheels shod with 110/70 ZR17 section front and 150/60 ZR17 section rear TVS Eurogrip’s ProTorq Extreme HR tyres.

Aprilia RS 457: Features and Specs

Aprilia has equipped the new RS 457 with all-LED lighting, backlit handlebar controls, a five-inch TFT color display, three-level traction control, dual-channel ABS, ride-by-wire, quick-shifter and three riding modes. ,

In terms of hardware, there is a pair of upside-down front forks with preload adjustability and 120mm of travel, while the rear mono shock has 130mm of travel and preload adjustability. Then, the RS 457 also gets a 320 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc with Bybre radial-mounted four-piston calipers.

Aprilia RS 457: Price and Rivals

While the new Aprilia RS 457 will compete with the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3, the RS 660 will be priced at Rs. We expect its price to be between Rs 4 to 6 lakh. Internationally, this sports bike will also compete with the Kawasaki ZX-4RR and Honda CBR500R.
