Ather Energy has been expanding the possibilities of electric mobility in the Indian two-wheeler sector since its launch. The EV maker currently offers the 450S and 450X models in our region. Notably, Ather CEO Tarun Mehta said on X that the factory-installed battery pack of the 450 scooter can travel more than 100,000 kilometers.

Ather 450 Scooter Design
Both the electric scooter 450S and 450X have a similar design. They have an LED headlight located on the apron, angular mirrors, a wide handlebar, a flat footboard, a side stand that fits flush, a single-piece step-up seat, tapering body panels, and a slim LED tail lamp. Both are equipped with a digital instrument panel and 12-inch alloy wheels with tyres designed for performance.
Ather 450X Scooter features
A color 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen with smartphone connectivity and an integrated Google Maps navigation feature is featured on the Ather 450X. The Snapdragon 212 processor powers the IP65-rated display along with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and Android OS.
A 5.4kW motor powers the entry-level 450S, while a more powerful 6.4kW motor powers the top-tier 450X.
Feature In-house-developed lithium-ion battery packs
The range-topping 450X model has a 3.7kWh battery, while the Ather 450S has a 2.9kWh battery. Ather Energy claims that both units have been extensively tested up to 1.1 billion kilometers to guarantee reliable performance over the long term.
CEO Mehta claims that the IP67-rated battery pack quickly covers a range of 100,000 kilometers before requiring replacement.
Extended riding range and braking system
The 450X’s 6.4kW electric motor and 3.7kWh battery pack allow it to travel up to 150 km on a single charge, while the Ather 450S’s 5.4kW motor and 2.9kWh battery pack guarantees a range of up to 115 km. For safety, they have multiple riding modes and dual-channel ABS. For improved capacity, both Ather scooters have coasting regeneration and braking.
