In the 1990s, Multi-Port Fuel Injection was first introduced by Indian automakers. In 2006, fuel injection technology was introduced to motorbikes by Indian bike makers.

What Is Efi Technology?

Electronic Fuel Injection is referred to as EFI. This technique is used by manufacturers in select high-end motorcycles. Bike fuel injection systems are comparable to automotive fuel injection systems. Therefore, the following definition applies to them.

A fuel injection system uses fuel injectors to introduce fuel into the engine’s combustion zone. The bike or car’s engine control unit, or ECU, controls the procedure. Carburetor and carbureted engine technologies became outdated with the advent of fuel injection.

The Fuel Injection System’s Simplified Operational Theory

A fuel pump and fuel injectors make up a fuel injection system. A bike’s pump is activated as soon as the throttle is twisted. Fuel is then sent from the pump to the injectors. The fuel is then injected into the combustion chamber by the injectors.

In this arrangement, the injectors’ function extends beyond simply supplying fuel to the combustion chamber. Additionally, the injectors atomize the gasoline, resulting in less fuel waste and efficient burning.

What Separates A Fuel-Injected Engine From A Carbureted Engine?

The following is the main distinction between an engine that is fuel-injected and one that is carbureted: The suction created by the incoming air stream from the surroundings powers a carburetor. A venturi tube is what makes the process possible. Using the vacuum that the entering air stream creates, the venturi tube draws fuel. Fuel is atomized and injected via tiny injector nozzles in a fuel injection system under the high pressure produced by the pump.
