BMW R 1300 GS: Which Other Bike Can You Buy

In India, the BMW R 1300 GS is now available for purchase, with a starting price of Rs 20.95 lakh. The bike replaces the R 1250 GS, the previous champion of the class.

For the R 1300 GS, BMW bikes in India have developed an entirely new engine, chassis, and suspension. The bike’s new 1,300cc liquid-cooled boxer engine is its standout feature. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox and produces 145 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Its features include electronic suspension, traction control, riding modes, and adaptive cruise control for the top model.

In addition to adding more amenities and increasing the bike’s power over its predecessor, BMW has kept the essential off-road capability and easy rideability that define a “GS.” These are the alternate options available in place of the BMW R 1300 GS.

DUCATI MULTISTRADA V4

It’s similar to a popular sports bike on stilts, the Multistrada V4. With its 170 horsepower GranTurismo V4 engine, the motorcycle quickly accelerates this large ADV to fast speeds. The amount of flexibility available puts technological sophistication on a whole new level. Compared to other bikes in the class, the ‘S’ and ‘Rally’ models have electronic damping and preload adjustment and more adjustable ride modes. They are the first bikes in the segment with adaptive cruise control and blind spot recognition systems. In addition, the Multistrada V4’s handling belies its diminutive stature, making it an enjoyable ADV.

TRIUMPH TIGER 1200

Triumph’s answer to the BMW R 1250 GS was the Tiger 1200. The engine’s performance, the upright riding position, and the features available all reflect the same attitude. Triumph’s 1,160cc inline-triple engine has a unique sound that grows on you with time and good tractability thanks to its T-plane crank technology. With its long legs, this engine is also a terrific long-distance mile muncher, and it’s comfortable and amusing to spend hours in the saddle. Although the footpeg position is relaxed, causing you to ground the pegs at significant lean degrees, the handling is excellent as well. In its class, the Tiger 1200 provides the best VFM.

The Tiger 1200 GT Pro costs 19,39,000 rupees. The other three versions, Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, Tiger 1200 GT Explorer, and Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer, cost Rs. 20,49,000, Rs. 20,99,000, and Rs. 21,99,000. The prices listed for the Tiger 1200 are average ex-showroom.

HARLEY DAVIDSON PAN AMERICA 1250

Many were surprised by the large American manufacturer’s response to the ADV category. And we mean it positively. The bike added a fresh taste to the mix with its striking style, massive size, and powerful 1252 cc V-twin. For their first ADV, Harley Davidson bikes has done a reasonably decent job designing a bike that performs well above its weight. Not to be ironic.

It can go from 0 to 100 and 200 miles per hour quite quickly because of the engine’s power, and it can travel a great distance each day without experiencing any problems. However, the considerable twin gets quite hot in regular Indian traffic, which may worry some people. Additionally, despite having the strength to tackle the challenges of off-road riding, it lacks the grace of its competitors, in part due to its weight.
