The Iron 883 was Harley-Davidson’s entry-level motorcycle as the American bike maker has discontinued its cheapest street version in India. The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 was first launched in 2010. The BS6 version of the bike was unveiled on April 1, 2020, a month before the BS6 deadline. After a successful 13 years, the Iron 883 was discontinued at the start of 2023.

As the name suggests, an 883cc V-twin engine powers the Iron 883. Its maximum torque of 70 Nm is produced at 3,500 rpm.

3. Harley Davidson Softail

Harley Davidson came to India in Aug 2009 with 3 bikes, and Softail was one of them. However, the manufacturer launched the updated model, Softail Deluxe, in 2018. The Softail has been revised for 2021 to comply with the latest emission norms. This bike dominated the 1500-1800cc bike segment before its discontinuation announcement in 2023. 

The Harley-Davidson Softail has wire-spoke wheels, twin exhaust canisters, a 13.2-litre fuel tank, a rear-swept handlebar, circular headlamps at the front, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

7. Hero Splendor iSmart 110

Hero MotoCorp’s first intelligently designed motorcycle, the Splendor iSmart 110, was introduced in India in July 2016. The Splendor iSmart 110 is built on a new platform and engine, reducing dependency on Honda.

The BS6-compliant version was first launched in late 2019 and features an all-new 110cc engine that produces 9 horsepower and 9 Nm of torque, mated to a four-speed gearbox. Hero says this engine offers 9% more power and 12% more torque than its older 100cc counterparts.

In contrast, the BS-VI version is powered by the same engine, which features fuel injection. The engine produces 9.89Nm and 9bhp, which is a slight change in the power output. However, the manufacturer stopped the production of the new Splendor iSmart 110 in 2023.
