The Ducati Panigale V4 continues to evolve, with several electronic upgrades slated for the model year 2023, making the bike simpler and more comfortable for riders of all skill levels.
For 2023, Ducati Bikes has unveiled an upgrade to its top-tier superbike, the Panigale V4. Ducati had last extensively modified the Panigale V4. The exterior, engine, chassis, suspension, and even the winglets all received extensive upgrades. However, this time the modifications are few, changing just a few electrical components and the cooling system.
Ducati Panigale V4 2023: Updates
Unlike other production superbikes, which tend to stay in the same condition for a few years, Ducati claims that these improvements are in line with the changes made to their race-spec machines each season.
Quickshifter and Engine Braking Control are two rider aids that have undergone modifications. The “Engine Brake Control Evo 2” software, which is new for 2023, has changed the degree of engine braking available at each of its three levels. Ducati claims that it has upgraded the software so that it now works differently in each of the three accessible levels in each gear. With this update, the ride-by-wire and traction control system of Ducatis gets a small adjustment.
Meanwhile, the quick shifter has been upgraded to offer a snappier shift in both parts and full-throttle. The new version just delays ignition timing, enabling gear changes to go through more smoothly for half-throttle changes than the previous version’s temporary ignition cutoff. The quick shifter will still cut off the ignition at wide-open throttle, but power will be restored more linearly afterward, allowing the bike to remain completely quiet.
Last but not least, the radiator fan’s programming has been changed to reduce heat buildup after a vigorous ride or a demanding track session (which should be especially helpful in our hot summer temperatures).
