An exact TVS Apache RTR 200 4V rival and the next Hero Xtreme 200R have been shown in a design patent. Thanks to a design patent leak, more details about Hero’s next sporty naked bike have emerged.
Hero has filed a design patent for the new streetfighter bike. It appears to be a 200cc motorcycle, which could be known as the Xtreme 200R.
Hero New 200cc Motorcycle: What to Expect?
The hero will probably build the brand-new motorcycle based on Hero’s legendary 200cc motorcycles, the Xpulse 200 and 200T. It will also likely be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine. The engine produces 19.1PS and 17.35Nm in the XPulse 200 Twin. However, we expect the tuning of the naked bike to be slightly different.
Mechanically, we expect Hero Motocorp to provide a four-valve engine in this model, likely to generate 19 hp power and 17 Nm torque. A five-speed gearbox can be mated to the engine. With this much power, it will take on the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in the Indian market. Talking about the looks, the shrouds and headlamps of the Hero 200cc bike look more stylish than those of the Xtreme 160R. The side panels, seat and fuel tank design are also largely similar to the Hero Xtreme 160R, with the wide handlebar and rear-set footpegs. The large panels on the rear seat and the distinctive rear bumper differentiate it from the Xtreme 160R.
Telescopic forks and mono-shock units will be used for front and rear suspension, respectively. It is expected to get disc brakes at the front and rear, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Hero New 200cc Motorcycle: Aggressive Style
The drawing of the design patent shows a muscular design with aggressive styling and sharp edges similar to the Xtreme 160R. Notably, the exhaust is identical to the XPulse 200T 4V. Additionally, LED indicators are visible, and one can also guess LED headlights and taillights. The single-piece seat and wide handlebar suggest a somewhat comfortable riding position without being overly sporty.
The hero will have a product to compete in the popular 200cc naked bike segment, which includes models like TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda Hornet 2.0, and Bajaj Pulsar NS200, along with the upcoming Xtreme 200R.
Early next year, Hero should introduce the Xtreme 200R, expected to be priced at Rs 1.35 lakh, ex-showroom.
