The most awaited retro motorcycle from the old generation Hero Karizma has been launched today with new updates. Karizma has a long history in India, with the iconic Karizma nameplate Hero all set to revive the new Karizma XMR 210. The previous model, Karizma ZMR, was launched in India in the mid-2000s and survived till the late 2010s.
Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta said this is the company’s third premium model in the last three months. Gupta also says that more motorcycles are in the pipeline. Niranjan Gupta says that the Karizma XMR is aimed at the younger generation. “Voice of the customer for us is the voice of God,” said Gupta at the launch.
Hero launched the new generation Karizma on 29 August 2023. This iconic motorcycle’s brand ambassador, Hrithik Roshan, unveiled the bike. He has been the brand ambassador of Hero Honda since 2007 when the Karizma ZMR was launched, though he was very young then. He has endorsed various models for the company. Hrithik effortlessly endorsed the tagline Jet Set Go, and the ad showcased Karizma’s speed and power.
2023 Hero Karizma XMR- Design
The new 2023 Karizma XMR has a sporty and attractive design. The Hero Karizma has perfectly faired angular headlamps with the familiar H-pattern LED DRLs. The overall design is expected to be based on a sports tourer rather than a full-fledged sports bike. The riding position is also expected to be less committed than a sports bike, making it a more comfortable option for touring.
2023 Hero Karizma XMR- Engine
The 2023 Hero Karizma bike features a 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces power of 25 bhp and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Hero MotoCorp’s media has updated the digital instrument cluster, which will be equipped with the Hero Karizma XMR. On display, the tachometer redlines at 10,000 rpm in sixth gear, with a top speed of 143 kmph. The indicative figure for fuel efficiency is 32.8 Kmpl. However, the official figure is yet to be confirmed by Hero MotoCorp.
2023 Hero Karizma XMR- Color Options
Previous leaked images have revealed that the Karizma XMR will initially be offered in a Red color option. The recent teasers have indicated that the Karizma XMR will retain the iconic yellow color scheme with the first-gen version of the bike.
2023 Hero Karizma XMR- Price and Rivals
Hero Karizma’s price could start from Rs. 1.72 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the company has yet to confirm the price. Hero Karizma XMR’s top competitors are the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, KTM RC 200, Honda CB 200X, Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Yamaha R15, and Suzuki Gixxer SF250.
