Hero announced a Monday collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and US-based luxury electric motorbike and powertrain maker Zero Motorcycles to manufacture premium electric motorcycles. The collaboration comes when the domestic two-wheeler maker is betting big on premium accessories and electric motorcycles. Hero MotoCorp has long aspired to dominate the premium market. With the rise of electric vehicles, it now has its sights set on the market for high-end electric motorcycles.
Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles Collaboration
On Monday, two-wheeler industry leader Hero MotoCorp said it had signed an agreement to develop high-end electric motorcycles with US-based company Zero Motorcycles.
According to Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler company, the tie-up combines Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing, procurement, and marketing size with Zero’s experience in designing power trains and electric motorcycles.
Hero MotoCorp’s board approved equity investment in Zero Motorcycles, the market leader in electric motorcycles and powertrains, in September 2022 with a maximum valuation of USD 60 million. Zero Motorcycles is located in California.

With Zero as our partner, we look forward to accelerating electric mobility in India and all our international markets. Let’s hope so,” said Pawan Munjal, chairman, and CEO of Hero MotoCorp.
With the VIDA V1 scooter, the business entered the electric scooter market. Hero MotoCorp has recently started operating its public charging infrastructure in Bangalore, Delhi, and Jaipur. It has already set up around 300 public charging stations across three cities.
Zero Motorcycles CEO Sam Paschal said the business is dedicated to revolutionizing the riding experience and introducing world-changing accessories.
