After launching the Ninja ZX-4R about a month ago, rumors are rife that Kawasaki Bikes may soon bring the Ninja ZX-6R back to the Indian market. According to recent media reports, the Japanese superbike brand is expected to launch in India by the end of this year. This bike sits between the ZX-4R and the flagship ZX-10R in the company’s global lineup.

The Ninja ZX-6R was previously on sale in India until the implementation of BS6 emission norms in April 2020. Internationally, this bike has received extensive updates compared to the previous model.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Updates

The most prominent change on the new Ninja ZX-6R is its redesigned front face, which gets a set of angry-looking new LED headlamps and a new windscreen. The fairings feature integrated winglets for improved aerodynamics and a more sculpted design inspired by the flagship Ninja ZX-10R. The rear part and tail lamp of the rest of the model look the same as the old model.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Specification

Powering the Ninja ZX-6R is the same 636cc inline 4-cylinder engine that complies with BS6 Stage 2 norms. This mill now produces 127 bhp and 69 Nm of peak torque, slightly less than the outgoing model. However, the bike still redlines at 16,000 rpm. The engine gets revised cam profiles, retuned injectors, molybdenum-coated pistons, a revised intake system, and new headers and collector pipes.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Hardware

The suspension of the new Ninja ZX-6R is managed by adjustable front forks and a Showa mono-shock at the rear, both of which are adjustable. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm discs, paired with new Nissin 4-piston calipers at the front and a 220 mm rear disc. The wheels will be wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tires.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Features

The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R features a new 4.3-inch TFT display with Bluetooth compatibility, which now gets an ECO riding indicator. The bike benefits from riding aids like three levels of traction control, three power modes, and riding modes. There is also a quick shifter on offer, but it is unclear whether it is a bi-directional quick-shifter.
