KTM Adventure 390 X vs BMW G 310 GS

The 390 Adventure X, marketed by KTM India as a more cost-effective variant of the 390 Adventure motorbike, was released in India for Rs. 2.80 lakh ex-showroom. The cost difference between the upgraded motorcycle and the conventional 390 ADV is about Rs. 58,000. Let’s see how it compares against the BMW G310 GS.

A 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that delivers 43 horsepower and 37 Nm of maximum torque powers the KTM 390 Adventure X. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and features a ride-by-wire throttle, assist and slipper clutch. On the other hand, the 318cc petrol engine of the BMW G310 GS has a maximum power output of 37bhp—the bike cranks with 28Nm peak torque. On paper, KTM’s engine is far stronger than BMW’s.

Due to the Rs. Despite the 58,000 price difference between the two bikes, the KTM 390 Adventure X lacks many electronic riders aids that are standard on the top-spec 390 Adventure. A color TFT display, riding modes, a ride-by-wire throttle, a bi-directional quick-shifter, and cornering ABS are among the gadgets absent. Additionally, it lacks a traction control system and Bluetooth connectivity. On the other hand, the KTM 390 Adventure X comes with a slipper clutch, LED lighting, dual-channel ABS with SuperMoto mode, and a 12V charging outlet.

LED lighting, a ride-by-wire throttle system, non-switchable dual-channel ABS, and a fully digital instrument panel are also included with the BMW G310 GS.

Pricing For KTM 390 Adventure X And BMW G310 GS

Priced at Rs. 2.80 lakhs, ex-showroom, the KTM 390 Adventure X is Rs. 40,000 cheaper than the BMW G310 GS. The KTM 390 Adventure X has superior performance, at least on paper. However, BMW delivers a more luxury ownership experience and a more valuable brand. These bikes are above 2 Lakh.
