KTM has unveiled the updated version of the RC 8C for 2023. A billion minor adjustments have been made to the purposefully hand-built and unique “tool” for the track to improve the owner’s track experience. As a result, the second-generation bike is much more than just a new paint job and an aero package.
KTM has unveiled the second generation of the 2023 RC 8C. There will be only 200 bikes specially designed for global markets. The flamboyant LC8c engine has seen dramatic development, and the second generation RC8c is lighter than ever with improved electronics. Prices start at Rs 33,09,186 ($39,995), and you can only submit purchases through a specific page on the KTM website.
2023 KTM RC 8C: Newly developed LC8c engine
With titanium connecting rods, a larger compression ratio, two-ring pistons, a larger throttle body, and increased fuel pump pressure, KTM has significantly modified the 889cc parallel-twin LC8c engine. As a result, it now produces 7 horsepower at 11,000 Rpm and 135 horsepower, and 98 Nm of peak torque at 8,250 rpm.
Additionally, they removed the top balancer, and the clutch preload was increased. KTM has also modified the crankcase balancer shaft to provide sustainable mileage. The additional PANKL oil cooler also aids in improving thermal stability.
2023 KTM RC 8C: Dimensions
The same department of MotoGP RC16 bikes was in charge of developing the 2023 KTM RC 8C. Its wheels are the first of many weight-saving solutions.
The lightest wheels will be on the RC 8C in 2023. The Pirelli Diablo Superbike Racing Slicks Dymag UP7X are mounted on forged aluminium wheels. It has 180/60R17 SBK SC1 tyres at the rear and 120/70 R17 NHS SC1 tyres at the front. You can also add 200/55/R17 to the back axle.
The brand-new Akrapovic exhaust system further slims down the bike’s look. The most recent WP PRO Components suspension setup, the 2023 RC 8C, weighs in at 142 kg, further adding to the ultra-lightweight feel and agility of the chrome-moly steel frame. Forks and shocks on WP APEX PRO are reportedly adjusted to gentler settings.
Last, the 2023 RC 8C’s use of winglets and aerodynamics are directly related to MotoGP event performance. Some of the improvements include downforce and effectiveness when braking.
2023 KTM RC 8C: Upgraded Electronics
The advanced electronics on the RC 8C allow you to control every parameter, taking racing technology even further. From engine braking, mapping, and traction control to brake bite intensity. Additionally, the steering head, triple clamp offset, and throttle response can all be adjusted using CNC machines.
A GPS data recorder has also been added to the dashboard. The handlebar switch has again been adapted from the RC16 motorcycle, and the quickshifter+ layout has been changed.
2023 KTM RC 8C: Competitors
There is no direct rival to the KTM RC 8C as it is a limited edition bike. However, the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta, Ducati Superleggera V4, and other powerful track-focused motorcycles could very well be on the list of potential buyers of the RC 8C.
