No Objection Certificate For Two Wheelers

Most bike owners feel they can ride their bikes wherever they are in the country. This is because their driver’s license states they can drive nationwide. However, if you need to relocate to another state or union territory, you must follow a procedure.

You must re-register your bike to drive it in the newly added state where you intend to use it. You can use your car in the other state only after completing the re-registration process and obtaining a No Objection Certificate, or NOC. Let’s learn everything we can about NOC for two-wheelers.

What is NOC (No Objection Certificate)

A No Objection Certificate, sometimes known as a NOC, is a legal document issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO). If you intend to relocate from one state to another with your two-wheeler, you must re-register it in the new state. The NOC certificate effectively confirms that you have no outstanding tax obligations to your current state. However, the only time you do not need to obtain a NOC for a two-wheeler is if you travel to another state for up to three months. For stays of more than three months, You must obtain a NOC.

If you need to stay in another state for more than a year, you must apply to change your address and re-register your bike, according to government laws. You should receive the NOC from the local RTO where you initially registered your car.

The Offline Process For Obtaining A NOC For A Two-Wheeler

Follow the steps below to obtain your NOC certificate.

  • To initiate the NOC procedure, you (the car owner) must personally visit the local RTO.
  • You must request Form CMV 28, which you must complete. In addition, you will be asked for basic information such as your name, address, contact information, vehicle registration certificate, driving license number, and so on.
  • You should send the completed form along with the required papers. You must also pay a nominal cost of 100 rupees along with the application form.
  • After you submit your application, the RTO contacts the local police to determine whether your vehicle has been involved in any previous traffic offenses or criminal cases.
  • If there are no outstanding dues or Department Statutory Action (DSA) cases against your bike, the RTO secures a clearance and issues your NOC.

Documents Required For Acquiring A Two-Wheeler NOC

  • To acquire the NOC, you must provide the following papers and form CMV 28.
  • The registration certificate or RC book for your two-wheeler.
  • Your proof of bike insurance.
  • The PUC (pollution under control) certificate is also known as the emission test certificate.
  • Along with Form CMV 28, You must submit a pencil print of the bike’s chassis number.
  • The bike owner’s self-attested photo ID.
  • Owner’s self-attested address proof
  • A passport-sized photo must be certified on the form.

The RTO normally begins the NOC process within three working days, and the certificate is issued within seven to twenty days.
