Royal Enfield’s First Electric Bike ‘Electric Himalayan’

Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle, Electric Himalayan, has been introduced. The new design idea was unveiled at the ongoing EICMA 2023 in Milan. Although this new bike is only in the concept stage right now, as the name suggests, it is still vital as it shows that Royal Enfield has made electric motorcycles.

At EICMA 2023, Royal Enfield also unveiled the all-new Himalayan 452. The famous Himalayan 411 will be replaced by the new 452. But Royal Enfield has chosen to keep Scram 411 to itself.

Design of Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric Concept

According to Royal Enfield, the electric Himalayan is a new form of sustainable exploration for the future. This is a creative interpretation of what an electric adventure tourer from Royal Enfield would look like. The concept bike has a proper ADV design. According to the business, the design team aimed to develop a concept to reduce rider and environmental stress while promoting exploration.

The primary structural component, the battery box, required a complete redesign by the company. Additionally, the company says it has implemented a simple design and uses innovative materials, such as composite bodywork made from organic Flax fiber.

The Ohlins gas-charged mono-shock and golden USD fork, a first for a Royal Enfield bike, are elements of the electric Himalayan that are potentially adjustable. Discs at both ends are used for braking, and the spoke wheels on the SM Pro Platinum appear to be 21-/17-inch sizes. A commercially launched product may not match these specifications.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric: Future Plans

Specifications of the electric Himalayan are currently unknown, and we expect Royal Enfield to release a production-ready bike model in a few years. At the moment, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric is just an idea.

The official launch is still a few years away, as this is just a platform for Royal Enfield to further develop its electric vehicle powertrain and mechanics. Royal Enfield also announced during the unveiling ceremony that it would reveal “several new concepts over the next few months.”
