Royal Enfield has unveiled the production version of the Shotgun 650. The bike mentioned here is the same bike that will be distributed to customers after the limited edition factory custom versions showcased at the company’s Motoverse festival last month.

The paintwork is the main area where both the bikes differ; The Motoverse version has nice hand-painted paint with elements like the color gradient on the fuel tank. Three simple paint jobs—drill green, plasma blue, sheet metal gray, and stencil white—are applied to production bikes.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Hardware and Engine

It has the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the Super Meteor 650, which produces 47 horsepower and 52.3 Nm, and it shares its engine and main frame with that bike. There are other ergonomic differences as well. The Shotgun has more mid-set footpegs and a flat handlebar, contributing to a more upright seating position.

Additionally, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 gets an 18-inch/17-inch combination instead of the 19-inch/16-inch setup, and the wheel diameters are also changed. The suspension configuration has had to be adjusted due to the changed wheel size, but the fork and dual shock absorber combination remains the same.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Features and Specs

It shares many features with the Super Meteor 650, including dual-channel ABS, a tripper navigation pod, and an LED headlamp. Similar to the classic 350, the new Shotgun 650 is available for purchase with or without a pillion seat.

In terms of specifications, the Shotgun 650 weighs 240 kg, has a 795 mm long seat, a short wheelbase, and a short overall length. Its weight is also 1 kg less than the previous model. Still, a 13.8-litre fuel tank holds 2 liters less fuel than the Super Meteor.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Price and Rivals

Although the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has not yet been fully revealed, we estimate that it will be less expensive than the Super Meteor 650. The bike is expected to launch at a base price of around Rs 3.4-3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, the Shotgun 650 will compete with the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 (price Rs 3.19 lakh), Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 (price Rs 3.60 lakh), and the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (price Rs 3.02 lakh).

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be available to customers around May 2024.
