TVS Motor Company will launch a new motorcycle in India on 6 July 2022. TVS Ronin is also known as Zeppelin R or Retron. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming cruiser motorcycle.
TVS Ronin 225 Cruiser Engine
The new 223cc single-cylinder engine in the TVS Ronin 225 cruiser will produce 20 bhp power and 20 Nm of peak torque.
According to TVS Motor Company, a new motorcycle will be introduced in the Indian market on 6 July 2022. As always, the brand has remained silent on what this will be, and rumors are swirling. An entry-level contemporary retro motorbike that was spotted testing months ago contributed to the rumor that the two-wheeler of the future would be retro.
The headlight design with the T-signature at the center was revealed a few days back. The chrome-ended LED headlight, along with the distinctive LED lighting signature, was part of the cluster. The Zeppelin concept car displayed at the 2020 Auto Show was believed to be its production version. TVS’s trademarking of the Zeppelin R moniker fueled the rumor.
However, the Hosur-based manufacturer also registered the names Ronin and Fiero 125 as trademarks. The company is entering a new market and unveiling its first cruiser bike in India, as indicated by the “new way of life” motto, and is launching invitations to the media.
TVS Ronin 225 Cruiser Colors, Features
We had the same view, though a recent online post claiming its sources said that TVS may deploy the Ronin 225 cruiser instead. The article states that the TVS Ronin 225 will have a retro-themed style like the traditional cruiser and may feature a new circular instrument panel similar to the Ducati Scrambler (which was supposed to be a retro test mule).
The speedometer, odometer, fuel level indicator, engine temperature indicator, and other important readouts will all be present. Regarding performance, the TVS Ronin 225 will likely be fitted with a new 223 cc single-cylinder engine (probably with oil-cooled technology), which will be capable of producing a maximum power output of around 20 bhp and maximum torque of 20 nm.
It will be mated to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. For suspension, a mono-shock (which could be golden like the Zeppelin Idea) could be used at the rear and upfront forks. With the help of a dual-channel ABS, the front and rear disc brakes will take care of the braking duties. The bike is expected to be launched on July 6, 2022. Now, it has to be seen whether TVS Ronin can take its place among the best 250ccc bikes in India.
