The 2023 Yamaha R125 gets a design inspired by the R7, also seen on the R15 V4. It replaces the body style of the previous generation.
Yamaha has been promoting performance-oriented motorcycles with racing at its center. Yamaha is famous for its athletic machines in the YZF-R series and is one of the “Big Four” Japanese manufacturers. Yamaha’s YZF-R series is still strong and has a huge following, though we no longer get the excellent R6.
The YZF-R15 V4 is a fine example of a weak supersport in India. Despite having an expensive price tag of Rs. 1.8 lakh to Rs. 1.93 lakh (ex-sh), the R15 V4 sold just a little less than 10,000 units in September 2022. Without a comparably equipped Suzuki or Honda competitor, the R15 V4 maintains its dominance. Yamaha R125 is also widely known.
We have the RC 125 from Team Orange, which sells for Rs. 1.85 Lakh in India and is also available in Europe and other international markets. Due to its modest weight, the 125cc supersport bike is an excellent first bike to improve the rider’s performance in motorsport. Yamaha Motor Europe has unveiled the 2023 YZF-R125 to serve this market.
2023 Yamaha R125 Debuts
The R15 is pretty appealing when the facts are laid out. It must be accurate. A single mistake can result in an improper sale, and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 and 250 are prime examples of this.
Yamaha has transferred the design of the R15 V4 to the R125. Previously, the R125 received the body of the R15 V3 and was known by the name R125 V3. The R125 gets brighter LED DRLs, redesigned bodywork, and a dual-purpose LED projector headlight.
The new Yamaha R125’s 5″ TFT display, also found on the company’s flagship R1, should be the show’s star.

2023 Yamaha R125: Specs and Features
The 2023 Yamaha R125 gets traction control, a slip-and-assist clutch, twin-channel ABS and even an optional quick shifter. Yamaha has provided Michelin Pilot street tires with dimensions of 100/80-17 up front and 140/70-17 down back to provide better traction and get the most out of this 125cc engine.
The engine gets VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) like the R15 V4, and its size is 125cc. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and produces 15 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 11.5 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Front KYB 41mm USD forks and rear mono-shock are among the bike’s components.
The 292 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc act as anchors of this track machine. Pricing will be made public in 2023. Yamaha can bring it to our shores. As far as other 125cc bikes in India are concerned, a few great models are available such as Bajaj Pulsar 125, KTM Duke 125, Honda SP 125, and Honda Shine.
