Choosing The Right Motorcycle Seat By Bike Type Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400 – Competition Check

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400

The Guerrilla 450, Royal Enfield’s most reasonably priced 450cc motorcycle in India, was just launched. The Triumph Speed 400 and the Harley-Davidson X440 are the main rivals of the contemporary-retro naked roadster. This article compares the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 and Triumph Speed 400 specs.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400 – Design

The two bikes are primarily differentiated by their elegant, modern, yet nostalgic designs. The Himalayan 450 and the Guerrilla share many design similarities. The bike’s roadster style is enhanced by the round headlamp, thin teardrop tank, and simple tail section. The motorcycle has five different paint jobs: Brava Blue, Yellow Ribbon, Playa Black, Gold Dip, and Smoke Silver.

In contrast, the Triumph Speed 400 has a more genuine neo-retro look, which is emphasized by the flatter tail section and spherical fuel tank. The USD forks, with their golden finish, give the design the much-needed pop. The Speed 400 comes in three colors: Carnival Red/Phantom Black, Caspian Blue/Storm Grey, and Phantom Black/Storm Grey. In contrast, the Guerrilla 450 comes in only one color.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400 – Features

There are three Guerrilla 450 variants: Analogue, Dash, and Flash. Each variety has a different set of characteristics. The base model includes an additional Tripper navigation pod in addition to a digi-analog display. Similar to its adventurous sibling, the Himalayan 450, other models of the TFT dash also have media controls, phone connectivity, Google Maps navigation, and a USB outlet for charging mobile devices.

In contrast, the new Triumph bike is equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster that shows the fuel level, clock, gear position indication, speedometer, trip meter, and odometer, among other things.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400 – Engine

The 452cc liquid-cooled motor that drives the Himalayan 450 also powers the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. With a smaller 45-teeth rear sprocket and a different power map than its ADV sibling, Royal Enfield Bikes has changed the final drive ratio while maintaining the same output values of 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40 Nm at 5,500rpm.

The Triumph Speed 400, on the other hand, has a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 39.5bhp at 8,000 rpm, which is comparable power output. However, the torque production is significantly less at 37.5Nm at 6,500 rpm. Nevertheless, the engine has good low- and mid-range power and outstanding refinement. Both engines are equipped with a six-speed gearbox, a slipper clutch, and an assist.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400 – Hardware

In comparison to the Speed 400, the Guerrilla 450’s hardware is more basic. Unlike the Triumph, which uses USD forks, it uses telescopic forks that are Showa-tuned. In the meantime, the rear of both motorcycles receives a mono-shock. Although both bikes have 17-inch wheels, the Royal Enfield has thicker tires on both ends. It has tires that are 120/70 on the front and 160/60 on the back, whereas the Speed 400 has tires that are 110/70 on the front and 150/60 on the back.

The Guerrilla 450 has two disc brakes: a 270mm rear disc and a 310mm front disc. In contrast, the Speed 400 uses a 230mm disc at the back and a 300mm disc up front to provide stopping force. Dual-channel ABS is standard on both bikes.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs Triumph Speed 400 – Price & Variants

The Guerrilla 450 is priced between Rs.2.39 lakh and Rs.2.54 lakh and comes in three variants: Analogue, Dash, and Flash. The Analogue base specification variant includes a Tripper Navigation pod and a semi-digital cluster. The more advanced models are equipped with a four-inch TFT screen that supports Bluetooth and Google Maps.

The Triumph Speed 400 price, on the other hand, comes in just one model and costs Rs.2.34 lakh. But until July 31st, Triumph India is offering a discount of Rs.10,000/—, making the product available for Rs.2.24 lakh less. Everything is ex-showroom in India.
