Bajaj Freedom CNG Bike – Variants Explained Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Vs Competitors: Specs and Features Comparison
Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Vs. Bajaj Dominar 400 – What’s Different

Bajaj’s flagship model in the Indian and international markets was the Dominar. However, with the introduction of the new NS400Z, the company now offers two motorcycles at the top of its lineup. Thus, it becomes the nation’s largest and most powerful Pulsar. It shares the same engine and chassis as its older sibling and is built on the Dominar platform. How does it differ from the Dominar 400? Let’s explore.

FEATURES

Bajaj Auto has added many features to the Pulsar NS400Z, including turn-by-turn navigation, four ride modes, a ride-by-wire throttle, Bluetooth connectivity, and a switchable traction control system. Despite being Bajaj’s flagship model, the Dominar 400 lacks these features. In the meantime, both bikes share the dual-channel ABS, digital instrument console, and full LED lighting.

DIMENSIONS

The NS400Z’s shorter wheelbase of 1,343mm—100mm less than the Dominar 400—is the primary distinction between the two motorcycles. This should result in better dynamics and handling for the Pulsar. It should also be more straightforward to drive in traffic and round bends because it weighs 18 kg less than the Dominar 400. Additionally, the NS400Z has a steeper rake, which should increase its agility even more.

ENGINE

The 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor powers both bikes, albeit it has been tuned significantly differently. Both sports motorcycles have equal power and torque outputs of 39.5 horsepower and 35 Nm; however, they are delivered at different RPMs. However, the sprocket sizes are where the real action is. The Pulsar NS400Z has a larger 46-teeth rear sprocket than the Dominar 400, which has 15/45-teeth sprockets. This should improve the Pulsar’s low-end and mid-range acceleration.

DESIGN

The biggest distinction between the two is undoubtedly the appearance of these bikes. The Pulsar NS400Z shares a lot of its style with the NS200, but it seems newer because of its sportier design components and sharper details. In contrast, the Dominar 400 appears bulkier and more masculine; nevertheless, since its 2017 release, the design hasn’t changed, and it now feels dated.

PRICE

Even though the Pulsar NS400Z has more amenities than the Dominar 400, it costs less—Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). This means that it is over Rs. 46,000 less expensive than its older sister, providing fantastic value and a more excellent motorcycle for the money.
