Finally, Ducati Bikes has launched the Hypermotard 698 Mono in India, with a startling ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 16.50 lakh. Here are some of the most notable features that make the sports bike unique and special in case you’re wondering if it’s worth that much money.
The Strongest Single-Cylinder Motorcycle
The motorbike’s 659cc liquid-cooled Superquadro Mono engine is the most potent single-cylinder engine found on a production motorcycle. It is Ducati’s first single since the racing Supermono. This device generates 63 Nm of maximum torque at 8,000 rpm and 77.5 horsepower at 9,750 rpm. It is coupled to a six-speed slipper clutch and assist gearbox.
Exquisite Hardware
A set of top-drawer cycling parts go with its powerhouse. The 698 Mono is supported by a steel trellis frame and has 17-inch wheels, an aluminum swingarm, Marzocchi USD forks up front, and a Sachs mono-shock up back. The suspension configuration is completely tunable. Additionally, due to its supermoto status, Ducati fitted it with extremely sticky, road-biased Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tires.
Countless Electronics
With its outstanding array of technological assistance, the tiny Hypermotard is a very impressive mid-size single-cylinder vehicle. It has launch control, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and switchable dual-channel ABS. For extra enjoyment, the optional wheelie assist and bi-directional quick shifter are also available. In addition, the new sports bike from Ducati has four riding modes that provide an assortment of varying degrees of intervention from the previously described rider aids. The modest 3.8-inch LCD console, nevertheless, might not impress everyone.
Stylish Layout
The Hypermotard 698 Mono exudes style with its sporty supermoto design that exudes joy and playfulness. Its under-tail exhaust, flat and long seat, beak-style front fender, and small headlamp are nearly exact replicas of the Hypermotard 950. Still, with its more manageable proportions, smaller engine, and narrower tires, the Mono appears more approachable.
Steep Cost
Ducati is shipping the Hypermotard 698 Mono from Thailand and Italy using the CBU method. Due to its displacement being less than 800cc, it is not eligible for the Indo-Thai Free Trade Agreement. As a result, the prices of the units arriving from Thailand and Italy are the same. It costs Rs. 50,000 more than the Hypermotard 950, which is a bigger, twin-cylinder vehicle.
