New Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

The all-new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is expected to be launched in early 2024 with an estimated price of Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Royal Enfield has made a surprise move by unveiling the Shotgun 650 at the ongoing Motoverse (formerly known as Rider Mania) in Goa. Based on the same parallel-twin engine chassis as the other Royal Enfield, the Shotgun 650 was first unveiled as a pre-production concept at EICMA 2021 SG 650.

During the launch of this new motorcycle, Siddharth Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Limited, said that the Shotgun is a symbol of customizing culture. He added, “The goal was to create this modular, shape-shifting device that looked like a mutant riding a motorcycle.”

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Design and Features

Along with modern bobber styling, the Shotgun 650 retains most of the styling cues from the SG 650 concept. It has typical Royal Enfield features such as round headlamps, circular turn signals, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, sparse side panels, and large front forks. The Enfield’s modular architecture enables it to convert from a conventional single-seater to a dual-seater.

The gloss black engine cover, twin peashooter exhaust muffler, spoke alloy wheels, low front, and rear fenders, and the wide, flat handlebar are some of the more attractive visual elements. The Shotgun’s low-set handlebar and mid-set footpegs provide a more upright riding position than the Super Meteor 650.

It has the same features as the Super Meteor 650, including a semi-digital instrument console, tripper navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED illumination, and a USB charging station. Royal Enfield will offer many features with the Shotgun 650 and a personalization option through the MIY program.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Specs

The same 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine powers the Shotgun 650. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. Although exact output numbers are uncertain, a comparable 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque are expected.

Regarding Hardware, the bike has inverted front forks with integrated aluminum top yoke and dual back springs. Disc brakes at both ends perform braking duties aided by dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Motoverse Edition

The latest RE 650 prices will be revealed closer to its formal introduction, which still seems far away. For Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the company offers 25 lucky Motoverse guests a chance to buy a limited edition Shotgun 650 model with an attractive paint scheme showcased during the event. This limited edition features a youthful body design with dual-tone blue and white.

Neon detailing and expertly created gradients can be seen in the hand-painted body panels. Reservations for this specific model will end at midnight on November 25, and the first 25 units will be delivered in January 2024.
