BMW recently launched the M 1000 R superbike in India. The bike is price at Rs 33 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Standard trim, while the “Competition” variant is price at Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike will be available through the CBU (Completely built unit) route in India. Interested bikers can book the bike at all BMW Motorrad dealerships across India. Deliveries are schedule to start from January 2024.

BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah said that The all-new BMW M 1000 R is the second M model from BMW Motorrad. This powerful superbike takes you to the limits with its dynamic roadster characteristics and great performance.

BMW M 1000 R: Engine

The all-new BMW M 1000 R superbike has a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine 999cc that generates a max power of 212 bhp at 14500 rpm and torque of 113 Nm. This engine propels the new M Roadster from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 280 km/h.

BMW M 1000 R: Features

The all-new BMW M 1000 R features a user-friendly 6.5-inch TFT display with M logo start-up animation. The instrument cluster also displays a revised rev counter and features an OBD interface for M GPS Data Logger and M GPS LapTrigger functionality.

Additional features on the newly launched motorcycle. It features a lightweight M battery, a rear USB charging socket, an LED light unit, adaptive turning lights, electronic cruise control, and heated grips, enhancing performance and comfort.

BMW M 1000 R: Hardware

In terms of hardware, the M 1000 R gets fully adjustable suspension at both ends, consisting of a 45 mm USD fork with a rear monoshock. Braking duties on the motorcycle are handled by a 320 mm twin disc brake at the front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear. The BMW M 1000 R also gets ABS, cornering ABS, wheelie control, and brake slide assist.

Other electronic features include a 6.5-inch TFT screen, a six-axis inertial measurement unit, and adjustable throttle and engine braking options. The weight of the motorcycle is 199 kg.
