Triumph Motorcycles is planning to make a faster version of the Speed Triple 1200 RS. Its R&D center was seen testing a motorcycle prototype.
What to know about the new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS
Triumph Motorcycles may be preparing to release a more aggressive version of the Speed Triple 1200 RS to remain competitive. Recent spy photos show what appears to be an upgraded Speed Triple 1200 RS prototype, which will likely be a second-generation vehicle when it goes into production. However, the new model is expected to include some notable upgrades.
From the spy photos, it is clear that the next Speed Triple 1200RS will have a more aggressive seating triangle. Because the handlebar is now clip-on, the rider is seated a little more aggressively than usual. However, the location of the foot pegs has been retained from the current model.
The test mule of the sports bike appears to have wires sticking out of the front and rear springs, indicating that Triumph is testing electronically adjustable suspension in this model. The suspension is likely to have different settings that can be controlled via switch cubes and menus on the TFT display. The current generation Speed Triple 1200 RS comes standard with manually adjustable Öhlins suspension.
The wires protruding from the test mule’s front and rear springs were also visible. From this, we can assume that the bike will come with an electronic suspension, which is standard. The buttons on the switchgear can be used to adjust the damping settings. A steering damper is also visible below the headlight unit.
From these latest features, it is clear that the British company Triumph intends to release a flagship model. Currently, India is one of the many countries where the Speed Triple 1200 RS is offered. However, there is a demand for more expensive and feature-rich models in the lineup.
