The RS 457 was introduced by Aprilia Bikes in India last month at a starting price of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, it marked Aprilia’s return to the motorcycle market after all its models were quietly withdrawn ahead of the implementation of BS6 Stage 2 regulations in April 2018.

According to recent media sources, parent company Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd owns the Baramati, Maharashtra plant, where Aprilia has started manufacturing the new sports bike. It is estimated that its delivery will start from March 1, 2024.

Aprilia RS 457: Engine and hardware

To power the RS 457, there is a 457 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine with a maximum torque of 48.8 Nm and 47 horsepower, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also has an optional quick-shifter and ride-by-wire throttle.

The fully faired Aprilia RS 457 sports bike is supported by a twin-spar aluminum frame that hangs from a rear mono-shock and upside-down front forks. Dual-channel ABS helps a 320 mm disc at the front paired with a 4-piston caliper and a 220 mm disc at the rear handle the braking duties. The bike has 17-inch alloy wheels and weighs around 175 kg.

Aprilia RS 457: features

The Aprilia RS 457 has a five-inch TFT color instrument panel, Bluetooth connectivity, backlit switchgear, all-LED lighting, and three riding modes. Traction control is part of the safety net. Styling-wise, it is influenced by its larger sports bikes like the Aprilia RS 660 and RS V4, with a completely faired body, split seats, twin LED headlamps, and a floating tail section.

Aprilia RS 457: Colors and Rivals

Three new colors —Prismatic Dark, Racing Stripes, and Opalescent Light—are available for the Aprilia RS457. Rivals of the Aprilia RS457 include the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and 400, BMW G310 RR, and Yamaha YZF-R3.
