Bajaj Chetak Electric scooter

An upgraded version of the Bajaj Chetak Electric is being developed by Bajaj Auto. Some reports claim that the upgraded Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter will come with a larger battery pack, which will give it a longer riding range, and will also have other features to improve its overall performance.

The new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will be available in two variants: Urban and Premium. Notably, the Premium trim will have a larger 3.2kWh battery pack that can range up to 126 kilometers, as verified by ARAI. The Chetak Electric Scooter is also expected to include state-of-the-art features like smartphone connectivity and a TFT color display with turn-by-turn navigation. It is estimated that the display size will be five to seven inches, which will provide riders with a contemporary and interactive riding experience.

The Chetak Urban variant will soon replace the existing Premium trim level. It is expected to keep the same 2.9kWh battery pack as the outgoing model, but it’s ARAI-certified range is about 5 kilometers more than the outgoing model’s 113 km.

Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter: new update

The redesigned Bajaj Chetak is expected to have a 4.25kW (5.7bhp) BLDC electric motor as part of the mechanical components, which should result in better performance than the current model. It can be speculated that the upgraded motor will also enable the scooter to accelerate faster.

Expected Launch Date and Price

The new Chetak electric Scooter is expected to be launched in the coming months. However, December 2023 is also a reasonable time to expect an announcement. It is speculated that the Premium trim will be more expensive than the existing model, possibly between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000, in light of the enhancements and changes made to the new model.

Other scooters similar to Bajaj Chetak in the Indian market are TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, Vida V1 Pro, and Ather 450X.
