Bajaj Auto has launched a unique festive promotion for its popular electric scooter Chetak, targeted at consumers in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Now customers in these states can buy Chetak for just Rs 1,15,000. It’s important to remember that this special discount is only available while supplies last. Additionally, online retailer Amazon is now selling the Chetak electric scooter with special discounts for Bangalore and Chennai residents.
Bajaj Chetak Range, Battery, and Charging
The Chetak can charge from 0% to 100% in 5 hours and has a 2.9 kWh battery. With a top speed of 63 kmph, the Bajaj electric scooter has a range of 108 km. Chetak can deliver 3.8 kW of continuous power and 16 Nm of torque at its maximum power of 4.08 kW. Two ride modes are available, Eco and Sport.
Bajaj Chetak Features and Specifications
The Chetak e-scooter has several features, including a fully digital LCD display, Bluetooth connectivity, 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, a front disc brake, regenerative braking, a reverse mode, a USB charging connector and all LED lights.
The Chetak model has consistently been one of the best-selling models in the electric scooter segment. Bajaj had announced that Chetak sales reached 7,045 units last month, up from 4,035 units sold in September 2022. This performance puts the Chetak at fourth position behind the Ola S1, TVS iQube and Ather 450X. The company shipped 6,575 units in August 2023.
Festival discount: Bajaj Chetak
Bajaj Auto has offered a limited time discount on the Chetak electric scooter in the holiday season. This offer is exclusive to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and is worth Rs 1.15 lakh. This deal is valid while supplies last.
According to reports, Bajaj is also developing a low-cost electric scooter and may re-introduce the Sunny brand. The Sunny was first introduced in the 1990s as an inexpensive, two-stroke scooter. Although Bajaj has not given details, the new, reasonably priced electric scooter will have a smaller battery than the Chetak. The release date of the new scooter is unknown, although it may take a few years before it becomes available to the public.
