TVS Motor Company intends to expand its range of electric two-wheelers and develop its infrastructure to sell electric vehicles. The company plans to increase production to 25,000 units per month to launch several products in the coming year. TVS recently launched a new electric scooter, TVS X.
TVS Motor is expanding its electric two-wheeler production
According to a senior official, TVS Motor Company intends to increase the variety of electric two-wheelers in the coming year to serve a broader range of customers. According to PTI, the Chennai-based company is working on an electric three-wheeler. It plans to expand its infrastructure to sell electric vehicles in addition to the existing line of two e-scooters.
“We also plan to launch a range of products in the 5 to 25 kW range next year,” said K N Radhakrishnan, director and CEO of TVS Motor Company. Due to strong market demand, the production capacity of TVS iQube electric scooters has been expanded to 25,000 units per month, and additional improvements are underway.
In the current quarter, TVS will start selling its all-new electric scooter, the TVS. According to Radhakrishnan, the company is continuously expanding its network of over 400 e-scooter touchpoints. Expressing confidence in its product selection and ongoing infrastructure upgrades, Radhakrishnan said, “With TVS’s planned product lineup and continuous infrastructure improvements, we are confident that we will remain on top in the EV segment.”
In terms of exports, Radhakrishnan estimates that iQube will be accessible in multiple regions over the next two to three quarters, with the ultimate goal of expanding its reach into Europe. He emphasized TVS X’s important position in the domestic and overseas markets and provided a clear plan for the company’s global expansion.
Answering a question regarding the electric three-wheeler, Radhakrishnan said work on the product was underway, with a focus on growing the three-wheeler market. He highlighted the company’s achievements in the global three-wheeler sector and gave his assurance about the potential of EV three-wheelers to drive further growth in the sector.
