The new variant is expected to be mechanically similar to the current Super Splendor. With this, Hero Super Splendor 125 is ready to take its position among other low-maintenance bikes in India. The next 125cc motorcycle Super Splendor will probably use the same 124.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled, BS6-compliant engine that makes 10.7 horsepower and 10.6 Nm.
Hero has hinted at a new Super Splendor commuter motorbike model that will have an all-black exterior. Super Splendor will now serve as the foundation for the use change.
- The Super Splendor engine could be added to the all-black version.
- Most likely just a front-disc brake
Hero Super Splendor All-Black Variant: Similar Specification
The new, all-black Super Splendor will be powered by the same up to 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed transmission making 10.7hp and 10.6Nm. The suspension setup and diamond structure supporting the Super Splendor are also expected to remain unchanged. The bike gets twin rear shocks that you can adjust in five steps and a telescoping front fork.
Things are quite different in the braking setup. Regular bikes have two options for the front brake: a 130 mm drum and a 240 mm disc. The manufacturer’s teaser image shows this new, full-black model with front disc brakes, which will likely be the only option available.
Hero Super Splendor All-Black Variant: Rivals and Price
Hero Bikes has already taken the same step by providing a black hue of the timeless commuter with its tiny Splendor. The Splendor+ i3s Drum Edition and its all-black counterpart, priced at Rs 71,728 each, are the same (ex-showroom, Delhi). The disc variant of the Super Splendor is priced at Rs 81,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and we speculate that the all-black variant will cost the same or a little more.
Two other popular 125cc bikes, the Honda Shine and the TVS Raider 125, are set to compete with the Super Splendor.
