The more aggressive R 1300 GS Adventure version has been unveiled by BMW Bikes in India. Let’s look at some of the motorcycle’s photos and the list of upgrades it receives over the regular trim while we wait for it to come on Indian soil.
Similar to its predecessor, the R 1300 GS’s new Adventure trim has a larger fuel tank, which gives it a more pronounced, muscular appearance.
The Adventure version of the GS has a substantially larger gasoline tank—30 liters—than the standard trim, which already has a sizable 18.9-liter capacity. The bike is powered by a 1,300cc liquid-cooled boxer-twin engine that generates 143bhp and 149Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed transmission.
The GSA does, however, have an optional Automated swap Assistant system that allows the rider to swap gears manually in Manual mode while the system handles the full gear-shifting exercise in Drive mode.
The GSA comes standard with cross-spoke wheels. Regular trail users may also choose the optional enduro forged wheels, which are 2 kg lighter and more durable.
With prices starting at Rs. 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom), the basic R 1300 GS has already been introduced in India. The Adventure trim’s starting price, however, may be Rs. 4-5 lakh more expensive.
