TVS Motors reported sales for February 2023, and the company’s total two-wheeler volumes (domestic + exports) stood at 267,026 units. Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI), which sold 247,175 two-wheelers in the same period, were outsold by the company. The sales gap between TVS and Honda was 8%, making TVS the second-largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India. Hero retained the number one position last month with sales of 394,460 units.
TVS and Honda Sales Report
Concerning domestic sales, TVS Motors sold 221,402 units against 173,198 units during the same period last year, up 28 percent. Of 285,706 units sold in February 2022, Honda’s domestic volume stood at 227,064. This is a decrease of 20.53 percent in sales. While Honda managed to stay second in domestic volumes, TVS managed stronger export volumes than Honda Motorcycles, improving its volumes over the Japanese brand during the past month.
TVS exports declined to 45,624 units from 94,427 units in February 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 51.68 percent. In contrast, Honda two-wheeler India exported 20,111 units last month, down 25.36% from 26,944 units shipped overseas in February last year.
