Honda Hness CB350, CB350RS Recalled Over Faulty Rear Brake Light Switch

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall of H’ness CB350 and CB350RS due to a defect in the bank angle sensor and rear brake light switch. The two recalled bikes had a problem with the backlight control, and they were manufactured between October 2020 and January 2023. The recall also includes two motorcycle models with bank angle sensor problems that were manufactured between October 2020 and December 2021.

“It has been identified that there is a possibility of cracking on the rubber due to the improper process adopted for manufacturing the rubber parts of the rear brake light switch,” Honda Motorcycles said in an official statement. This can result in water ingress and corrosion of the internal switch, rendering the light unable to function. It was found that the improper molding process for the sensor housing had left a gap in the sensor body sealing, opening the door for water to enter the bank angle sensor. This increases the possibility of sensor malfunction and, in the worst case, the bike stalling.”
