Several rumors and news revealed that Hero is developing two new 125cc bikes for mid-2023, as well as including a picture of one of them on the test. Now, this bike is ready for a formal launch at the Hero World event on Tuesday. Just before the event, a picture of the motorcycle was leaked.
2024 Hero Xtreme 125R: What to know
According to the picture, this bike will be known as Xtreme 125R. Hero plans to use this motorcycle to take on rivals like Bajaj Pulsar NS125, Honda SP125, and TVS Raider.
Based on what has been seen, the bike has a dynamic presence with a massive fuel tank surrounded by large side shrouds. Needless to mention, the aggressive-looking LED headlamp makes us think of bigger bikes like the new Honda CB1000 Hornet and the Kawasaki Z1000. Still, the motorcycle has a unique character thanks to the twin pilot LED lights mounted on top. Attractive LED indicators also complement the design.
The split seating contributes to the sporty appearance, and the silver-colored body panels add a premium feel to the front. Additionally, the exhaust design is more modern than any other Hero motorcycle in the 125cc segment.
2024 Hero Xtreme 125R: Engine and Specs
Although the engine specifications are still unknown, the leaked image shows that the engine of this bike is similar to other models like Hero Glamour. The engine generates 10.8 horsepower and 10.6 Nm torque. However, we may see a slight increase in power figures as Hero is pitting this machine against the athletic TVS Raider, which has 11.4 horsepower.
It is uncertain whether this is an entirely new chassis, although that possibility exists. In any event, the rear subframe is undeniably different from Hero’s existing 125 due to the more extended tail section. It offers a telescopic fork and a mono-shock suspension, and the bike is equipped with a front disc brake and rear drum brake.
2024 Hero Xtreme 125R: Price and Rivals
To give you an idea, the TVS Raider is priced at Rs 95,000 for the base model and Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom prices) for the top model. Expect a comparable, if not slightly lower, cost to the Hero. At the Hero World event, the company also unveiled the Mavrick 440, and there will probably be a few more surprises. Once launched, Xtreme 125R will directly compete with other 125cc bikes, such as the Bajaj Pulsar NS125, Honda SP125, and TVS Raider 125.
