Auto Expo 2023: Ultraviolette unveils F99 factory racing platform
This year Ultraviolette intends to host the One Make Racing Series.
Ultraviolette Automotive showcased the all-new F99 factory racing platform during the Auto Expo 2023. The performance range of the previously released F77 electric bike has been taken forward by the F99 model.
Ultraviolette F99 Electric Motorcycle: Performance
The UltraViolet F99 has a 120V architecture out of the gate, unlike the 60V architecture of the F77. Second, significant modifications have been made to the electric bike motors without sacrificing safety. The result is a motor rated at 50kW (68 horsepower), which the manufacturer believes will allow the bike to reach 200 km/h. The F99 will be faster than the Ultraviolette F77 Recon on those metrics (0-60 kph in 3.1s and 0-100 kph in 8s), though the manufacturer hasn’t yet disclosed those times.
Besides the faster motor, the Ultraviolette F99 has several improvements to make it a more focused racer. To improve the riding ergonomics, adjustable rear-set foot pegs, a shorter and firmer seat, and a more committed riding position are some of the improvements. The carbon fiber body panels of the motorcycle are made to help reduce weight, while the added winglets boost aerodynamics.
A revised brake system with Brembo master cylinders and Pirelli Supercorsa tires will provide more traction than the F77, especially on the racetrack, and are further upgrades.
Ultraviolette F99 Electric Motorcycle: One Make Racing Series
There are plans to hold the One Made Racing Series this year, according to Ultraviolette, who did not reveal any other details about the bike. Riders will then get a chance to know what it’s like to race on a powerful electric motorcycle.
