Upcoming Yamaha Bikes in India
Yamaha revealed at a dealership event that it will introduce the Yamaha R7, MT-07, and MT-09 in India in 2024, marking the company’s entry into the premium middle-weight motorcycle market.
2024 Yamaha MT-07 and R7
The 689cc liquid-cooled, in-line twin engine powering both the Yamaha MT-07 Streetfighter and R7 SuperSport produces 73.4bhp at 8750 rpm and 67 Nm at 6500 rpm. The MT-07 is expected to compete with the Kawasaki Z650, Honda CB650R, and the Triumph Trident 660, which are expected to be priced between Rs 8 and 9 lakh.
The brother of the MT-07, the Yamaha R7 is expected to be priced around Rs 9-10 lakh and will take on the Honda CBR650R, Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the soon-to-be-released Triumph Daytona 660.
2024 Yamaha MT-09
One of the most powerful motorcycles from Yamaha, the MT-09 is powered by an 847cc liquid-cooled 3-cylinder cross-plane engine that produces 87.5 Nm at 8500 pm and 115 bhp at 1000 rpm. Its expected price will be around Rs 13 lakh. The Yamaha MT-09 will compete with the BMW F 900 R, Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple RS, and Ducati Monster.
