EICMA 2022: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. First, look unveiled.
The most expensive cruiser from Royal Enfield has top-notch specs and looks appropriately highway-worthy bike.
Super Meteor 650 has been captured in photographs more than two years after it was initially discovered. The twin-cylinder motorbike has distinct cruiser styling with a flared-out front end, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, easy-to-reach handlebar, and forward-set footpegs. The round headlights, taillights, instrument panels, mirrors, and indicators highlight the vehicle’s retro design motifs.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Hardware & Features
In a first for a Royal Enfield motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650 is sprung on 43mm USD forks, with a twin-shock configuration handling the rear. Front suspension travel is 120mm, and rear wheel travel is 101mm. The Super Meteor is still preload adjustable but does not get gas-charged shock absorbers like the 650 twins. 320 mm front disc and 300 mm rear disc (more significant than 650 twins) are responsible for stopping the vehicle. ABS with a dual channel will be required.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Engine & Specs
Its 648cc twin-cylinder thumper shares the same engine as the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. Unlike the 650 Twins’ 47.45PS and 52Nm, it only produces 47PS and 52.3Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-assist clutch.
The cruiser gets 100-section CEAT Zoom Cruise tires at the front and 150-section CEAT Zoom Cruise tires at the rear and rides on a set of 19- and 16-inch alloy wheels (F/R, respectively). Similar to the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, it features a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. As on previous J-platform bikes, the switchgear is an archaic rotary design, although it is made from cast aluminum, a first for the business.
The Super Meteor 650 weighs 241 kg, which is 39 kg more than the Interceptor 650. Still, the 740mm seat height, 25mm lower than the Meteor 350, feels comfortable for riders of all heights. The 15.7-liter petrol tank on the Super Meteor 650 is also more significant than the 13.7-liter tank on the Interceptor 650.
RE Super Meteor 650: Variant, Price, Launch & Rivals
There are two variants of this cruiser: regular and touring. Rider Mania In 2022, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 will most likely make its official debut in India. After this, the company will sell it from January 2023 or December 2022 at an estimated price of Rs 3.35 lakh.
Lastly, the feature-rich, great-looking Super Meteor is a fine example of how he can use the 650cc platform effectively. The Super Meteor 650 seeks to fill the enormous hole left by the discontinuation of the Harley-Davidson Street 750 by offering a high-end cruiser experience to the masses. Kawasaki Vulcan S is the only option in its market.
