Ola Electric has cut the price of its premium S1 Pro electric scooter in the country by Rs 5,000. As a result, the new effective price (ex-showroom, post-subsidy) is Rs 1.25 lakh. Ola Electric hasn’t explained the reduction, but now you can add more spice to the offer by offering an additional discount of Rs 8,000. The additional discount will be available till April only. The Ola S1 Pro electric scooter was introduced in 2021 with a price tag of Rs 1.30 lakh and remained on sale for a few months at that price. Ola decided to immediately hike the prices by Rs 10,000, as most manufacturers do after the promotional period ends. The S1 Pro, on the other hand, saw a decline in sales, and since the second half of last year, the top-tier Ola scooter has been offered a discount of Rs 10,000. Ola hasn’t formally returned the starting price, but the S1 Pro sells at Rs 1.30 lakh, ex-showroom.

 

The recent cut is just one of many discounts and offers for the S1 range from Ola Electric. As a result of the company’s aggressive sales approach, there are now additional offers and discounts on ex-showroom pricing, insurance, maintenance plans, and other items. The most recent promotion may result in some customers upgrading from the S1 to the S1 Pro.

 

However, there has been no change in the prices of Ola S1 Air and Ola S1. After subsidy, all prices are ex-showroom, with the S1 Air starting at Rs 84,999 and the S1 range starting at Rs 99,000. The sales figures show the deals have undoubtedly inspired more customers to try the Ola electric scooter. In March this year, the company sold over 27,000 units, and by the end of FY2023, it would have sold over two Lakh. Regarding business, it controls over 30% of the Indian market for electric scooters.

In terms of products, the Ola S1 Pro packs a punch. The 4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers the electric scooter offers a range of 181 km on a single charge. The top speed of the 8.5 kW (11.3 bhp) PMS electric motor is rated at 116 kmph. While 0-60 kmph is achieved in 4.5 seconds, 0-40 kmph is achieved in 2.9 seconds. Recently, in response to several accidents and failures involving the component, Ola offered to upgrade the front suspension for existing customers.
