Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

Royal Enfield is planning to launch the Shotgun 650 in India in early 2023, a new roadster built on the 650 Twins chassis.

  • Likely to come in two variants
  • This will be the premium version of the existing bike.
  • It is likely to launch in late 2022 or early 2023.

The Shotgun 650 was once again spotted testing by Royal Enfield, and based on its appearance, the bike is likely to be launched soon. This bike will be another premium model built on the same 650 Twins platform as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. It is based on the Royal Enfield SG 650 idea. It is also assumed that Royal Enfield will add one more model to its 650cc cruiser lineup, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650.

The new upcoming bike, Shotgun 650, was recently seen during open testing in India in April. The Shotgun 650, which is based on the SG650 bobber idea, will have a bobber-like single seat. However, based on the back seat of the latest testing bike, it appears that there could be two variants of the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Engine & Features

The 648cc, parallel-twin engine powering the Shotgun 650 has a similar mechanical design and is expected to produce around 47 bhp power and 52 Nm torque. Although the Hunter 350 will be Royal Enfield’s next premium model, the launch date has not been announced yet. After the Hunter 350, the Super Meteor 650 is the most underrated model and is expected to appear by the end of 2022, followed by the Shotgun 650 early next year.

Compared to the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, the two existing bikes on which it is based, the Shotgun 650 will be the more expensive option. Inverted forks at the front and alloy wheels at both ends support the shotgun.

RE Shotgun 650 Price, Rival, and Launch Date

Royal Enfield is expected to introduce the Shotgun 650 and the Super Meteor 650 in India by the end of this year or in the first months of 2023. The bikes’ prices are expected to be between Rs. 3,00,000 and Rs. 3,50,000. Regarding the best 650cc bikes in India, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650’s rivals include the Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT, and the Triumph Tiger Sport 660.
