Following the launch of the MT-09, Yamaha has now released an upgraded, SP version of the motorcycle. The Yamaha MT-09 SP motorcycle has been upgraded with hardware, performance, and design modifications for the global market.
The top-spec MT-09 has an attractive and innovative design in terms of aesthetics with a blue and silver finish. It still has the 890cc crossplane triple CP3 engine from the street naked bike but now meets Euro 5 emissions regulations without compromising performance. Although it is unclear whether the company plans to release the MT 09 SP in India, some rumors support this possibility.

2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP: Design and Hardware
The higher-spec SP version includes a split seating configuration, an upgraded fuel tank, and other features shared with the standard MT-09. The suspension system of the 2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Edition includes a fully adjustable Öhlins mono-shock with remote preload adjustment and a fully adjustable 41mm KYB front fork covered in DLC.
The motorcycle braking system consists of a Brembo radial master cylinder and Brembo Stylema mono-block calipers at the front. Additionally, two 298 mm brake discs are part of the arrangement. There is a single 245mm brake disc and caliper setup at the bike’s rear. ABS is standard gear on both ends of the motorcycle.
2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP: Features
The newly launched motorcycle has a unique feature called Yamaha Ride Control Settings that lets users adjust the engine power and computerized rider assistance intervention level per their preferred preferences. Additionally, the rear ABS is switchable. The Yamaha Smart Key system is another feature of the new motorcycle, making it the first MT model to do so. Riders can lock or unlock the fuel cap and start the engine using the electronic key fob.

The same dual overhead cam 890cc crossplane triple CP3 engine that powers the basic model powers the higher-spec SP version, which sees no notable engine changes. Like the base model, the bike also features grilles for the audio amplifiers above the redesigned fuel tank.

Despite rumors, Yamaha will unlikely introduce the top-spec SP model in India. The official launch date of the brand-new standard MT-09 has not been made public yet. According to industry reports, the advanced bike could arrive on our shores any time in the upcoming year.
